2'-FL

What is 2′-FL?

Immune development in your child is important, especially in their early years. According to Dr Mark Underwood, Chief of Paediatric Neonatology and Professor of Paediatrics at the University of California Davis, 70 per cent of the immune system is located in the gut. Hence, it is important that a child receives nutrients like prebiotics to strengthen his or her immune and digestive systems.

  • 2′-FL is a special prebiotic found naturally in breast milk.
  • 2′-FL feeds good bacteria in the gut where 70% of the immune system exists.
  • 2′-FL supports baby’s developing immune system beyond the gut.
  • 2′-FL is the most abundant oligosaccharide present in breast milk.1

Why is 2’-FL important?

Studies have also shown that babies fed with 2’-FL experienced less upper respiratory tract infections2 and diarrhoea3. Hence 2’-FL is believed to support a child’s natural body defences.
