Ingredients

  • Double toned milk – 1 ½ cup​

  • Wheat – 1 tbsp​

  • Silvered almonds – 1tsp​

  • Raisins – 2tsp​

  • Cardamom powder – 1/4th tsp​

  • Saffron – 2-3 strands​

  • Vanilla Ensure Diabetes Care – 3 Scoops

Method

  • In a small bowl, soak saffron strands in 2 tablespoons warm milk and keep aside.​

  • Grind dry wheat in a grinder to make it coarse.​

  • Pressure cook the coarse wheat with 1/4th cup water and 1/4th cup milk.​

  • Allow the pressure to escape and open the lid. Keep aside.​

  • Take the remaining milk in a heavy bottom pan. Bring to boil and add the cooked wheat while stirring it continuously.​

  • When it thickens, add cardamom powder, saffron milk and half the almonds and raisins. Mix well and cook while stirring for 30 seconds.​

  • Transfer the kheech to a bowl. Let it cool and add 3 scoops of Ensure Diabetes Care. Mix well, garnish with remaining raisins and almonds and serve.
