How do I prepare Similac® Total Comfort Kid 3 correctly?

To prepare Similac® Total Comfort Kid 3, wash and sterilize all feeding equipment. Boil drinking water for 5 minutes and let it cool to lukewarm. Pour 60 ml of water per scoop into a sterilized bottle. Add one level scoop of formula for every 60 mL, shake well until dissolved, and check the temperature on your wrist to ensure it's lukewarm. Feed immediately or store in the fridge at 2-4°C and use within 24 hours.

What are HMOs?

Human Milk Oligosaccharides is a unique, non-digestible, immune nourishing ingredient which serves as food for good bacteria in the digestive tract. Because 70% of the immune system is found in the digestive system, feeding good bacteria not only keeps your kid’s tummy healthy, but also gives her an immunity boost! More than its prebiotic effects, HMO also acts as a receptor decoy that prevents pathogens from attaching to your child’s digestive tract. Think of it as a clone that imitates the sugar in the cell surfaces of the tummy which infectious bacteria latch on. How does HMO work?

There are 3 ways by which HMOs help strengthen your child's immune system. First, HMOs serve as food for good bacteria in the gut. When beneficial bacteria are properly nourished, they can grow, multiply, and fight off bad bacteria. Good bacteria also produce short-chain fatty acids that strengthen the immune system further. Second, HMOs act as decoys that prevent bad bacteria from attaching to gut cells thus preventing them from entering your child's system. Third, some HMOs are also absorbed into the bloodstream where they can trigger immune cells to release protective factors, regulate allergies or infections in children.
